Once upon a time, there was a kingdom called Bohemia. Rokve, the king of Bohemia had four daughters. The king loved them so much and raised them to be good sisters to each other. There was a strong bond between the girls. They shared everything, ate and slept together, finished each other's sentences.

They were twins with the same beautiful faces, but different color hair. The first one, Tvasa had black hair, like the good rich soil. The second one, Rany had golden hair like the wheat fields. The third one, Zosa had brown hair like the ripe chestnuts. And the fourth one, Leta had silver hair like the icicles.

When the princesses stepped into the marriageable age, king Rokve organised a ball. Princes and their royal families arrived to Bohemia from every kingdoms of the world to celelbrate the Bohemian princesses.
After the feast, the king called his daughters one by one and give them gifts.

He called the first one and said: -My child, this necklace - made by your mother’s hands – is yours from now. Wear it with love and responsibility because where you are walking, after each step, life will be sprouting. – then king Rokve handed the necklace to princess Tvasa. This necklace looked like as if it were made of spring buds on a dewy morning.

Thus he ended his speach: - After I removed from among the living, four of you need to rule this kingdom together, and always changing each other. Everyone gets only a quarter of the year. Whoever just follows has to go to all areas of Bohemia. Don’t change the order and don’t run over your quarterly periods. If you do, there will always be happiness and abundance in the kingdom. But woe to those who disobey, and breach my orders!

The princesses had sworn to their father that it will be all according to his words, and the ball started. What has been said, that the four girls will simultaneously lead the kingdom, provoked mixed reactions. Someone had received with joy, saying the twins will surely rule good like sisters. Others belived this will lead to conflict, because who ever heard of such a thing? And there was who thought nonsense the whole ceremone, and that eventually it will be only one ruler, one of her future husbands. The faces of the Bohemian princesses reflected nothing from these doubts, they were happy with their gifts and the idea that as wifes they will live together as well. They were excitedly looking towards the future in the crossfire of the foreign suitors’ gazes.
